About Us

EPR-TECHNOLOGIES, INC., was formed to commercialize technology for emergency preservation and resuscitation (EPR) based on the research work of the University of Pittsburgh, Safar Center for Resuscitation Research, Department of Critical Care Medicine.  The company currently has an option to an exclusive license to this technology from the University of Pittsburgh.

EPR-Technologies is dedicated to the memory and vision of the founder of the Safar Center, Dr. Peter Safar, M.D., to advance emergency medical resuscitation capabilities in order "to save brains too good to die" .

Dr. Safar was a pioneer in resuscitation research and "the father of cardiopulmonary resuscitation" (CPR) (mouth-to-mouth breathing and chest compressions), a world leader for public access to basic resuscitation procedures and a renowned international humanitarian.
